One of the hardest parts of writing is thinking I've not made any progress after finishing a daily chunk of work. The lack of ability to see beyond the next sentence to the big picture over time. That's where I think writing challenges hold value.

Today I hosted my first reading live stream instead of a writing one. I still ended up talking about the writing style choices in the book. Reading as an author myself I'm not sure I can ever switch the critique part off.

I'm attempting to record one chapter a day, then edit it the next using my existing streaming set-up. It gives pretty good quality results and I can turn it into a video experience. Much faster than aiming for the standards of traditional audiobook stores. My vtuber model will be reading it to you.

Did I produce an audiobook over the six week school holidays? No.

Did I do a lot of experimentation and learning about audiobook production? Yes!

I've finally settled on a work flow I'm comfortable with & progress is happening 📖🎙🎧

The heat isn't kind. The bookmarks turned out better than expected and gave me a big lift.

Been MIA because I'm ill. Waiting for blood cultures for answers. Combined with POTS + UK heat it's been rough.

On the plus side my author bookmarks arrived & they're gorgeous! They'll be handed out at local fair stalls soon thanks to family support. 💜
