A 4-panel comic. I'm sleeping in my bed. There's a faint sound coming from outside the panel. I wake up, take off one of my ear plugs, thinking one of my girls is crying. The sound is clearer: it's now "eeeeeeeeh". I find out it's coming straight from my sleeping husband's nose.

This year the Graphic Medicine Awards comprised three categories. The winning titles were Boum‘s The Jellyfish (Pow Pow) for Best Long Form Comic; Sunflowers, by Keezy Young (Silver Sprocket) for Best Short Form Comic; and Breathe: Journeys to Healthy Binding, by Maia Kobabe and Dr. Sarah Peitzmeier (Penguin Random House) in the newly introduced Best Educational Comic category.

A 4-panel comic about our 2019 trip to Walt Disney World. Walt Disney World never does anything normally. What should be a fun, relaxing 3D movie becomes a full sensory experience where they shoot air, water, and foul smells at you, and poke you in the back. (My 5yo daughter sits through the "A Bug's Life" show with all the aforementioned things happening to her all at once; she screams.) This made our already wary 5yo very anxious before EVERY ATTRACTION. She clings to my arm screaming "I DON'T WANNA GOOO" while we're about to get into the very tame, rather boring "Voyage of the Little Mermaid" ride. She says she's scared and I tell her she'll be fine. Thanks for nothing, Disney.

We don't always need jump scares to make a ride interesting!
