so it turns out that my liquid silicone is fuuucked, but we got them stuck on there and as long as he doesn't stand in the rain without an umbrella, they should hopefully stay on the whole day. Had to use the cheapo backup horns because the other two pairs are too big for his head somehow lol

update: chili GOOD. Looking forward to the next few days of leftovers, especially the part where we make chili dogs out of it. Gonna spend the rest of my evening trying not to pass the fuck out before 7pm, I'm SO tired.

I can't remember what these taste like because every time I try and think about it, I am transported back to the time I lost TWO baby teeth biting into one of these wretched things and all I can recall is My Own Blood flavour. 💀

They turned out GOOD! No recipe this time because I didn't use one. Crust was super crisp, will be making agian, probably with some modifications on the seasoning.

Quick and Easy NO-Knead, No-Rise Pizza Dough Recipe Ingredients: - 1 pkg dry, active yeast (equivalent of 8g or .25 ounces or 2.25tsp) - 1 tsp sugar - 1 cup warm water (110 degrees F) - 2.5 cups bread flour (we use all-purpose flour) - 2 tbsp olive oil - 1 tap salt Pre-heat oven to 450 degrees 2 In large bowl, stir yeast and sugar into warm water and let it sit for 5-10 minutes until it looks creamy. When the yeast is frothy, add in the flour, oil and salt and stir until well mixed. At this point your dough will be loose and messy looking. That's ok. There's no need to format smooth ball like you would with traditional pizza dough recipes. Let the dough mixture rest for 5 minutes. 5 transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface and roll or pat into 1 12" crust or 4 individual crusts.

they were so good, the crust is also simple enough that I'm definitely gonna fill it with leftover taco stuff, curries and stews in the near future!

tomorrow I'm making a chicken pot pie, and then we are closing the week off with a couple days of mini meatball subs on brioche, might deep fry some crispy onion straws to top them if I'm feeling fancy/cool with burning the shit out of my hands with hot oil!

usually when I meal plan for the week my aim is to have as many leftovers as possible. this week we switched it up and decided to make a bunch of one-off meals that are contenders for the regular rotation. tonight was calzones with from scratch crust, turned out GREAT

I don't really collect figures anymore because I can't really afford to. I have also never bought anything from youtooz. But the temptation on this thrumbo is inexplicably mighty. Love these guys. I need to play more rimworld, but also my laptop may explode. Don't have the DLCs, either. :(

This is a metaphor for me trying to get anything done whenever my kid brings home a brand new virus from school and gives it to the rest of the household.

I've spent the past few days colour correcting one to three pages and then falling asleep on the couch before dinner. I hate being sick, the evening brick wall just like...moves itself forwards by 4 whole hours and if I stop to eat lunch, I basically stop for the rest of the day.

FINALLY finished fixing up all 55 pages of chapter 19! Aaaaand chapter 20 is....44 pages. I am going to take a break, eat some lunch and like...play some stardew valley before I get started on that.

Was something that everyone, everywhere has, and I was just sort of terrible at it as an adult. I didn't realize how much of that is really just built in if you live in a co-op, for better or for worse.

I have been living in the same place for more than a decade and I don't know my neighbours' names. I have been sitting here feeling like I'm a terrible neighbour, and this article lead to a real OH! moment; I grew up in co-op housing in Kanata, and I guess I just thought that the sense of community?

My parents had 5 kids and all of us had our own issues at/with school, but I swear my communication with the school is more ANNUALLY for my one kid than it was for all 5 of us combined for our ENTIRE schooling.

They are just about to exit middle school and enter highschool next year, and I'm so worried about accommodations we have fought hard for not being properly implemented or implemented at all. Autism spectrum diagnosis is very recent, but we went through ADHD assessment in SK for supports.

Ooof, even as a Canadian we had that talk with our kid at around the same age. Now at 13, we have somehow raised a kid who has an unwavering sense of justice, hates the government and is not even slightly afraid to tell adults directly when they are being shitty/unreasonable/self-contradictory.

I have to assume that the forehead wrinkles are the result of incredulously raising my eyebrows at the things that come out of everyone in this house's mouths a thousand times a day, and that eventually they will be so deep that I will look permanently scandalized. 😭

I am somehow 40 and eyebag-free despite spending the last 13 years since my kid was born sleeping on average like 4 hours a night, but boy howdy is the trade-off ever deepening forehead grooves. Even when my face is totally relaxed they are there and they are DEEP.
