Thank you to CTV News for highlighting the problem with blue bristle litter from snow-clearing machines.
It's clear from the City's response that they are still not taking the problem seriously.
It is possible to clear off snow without causing plastic pollution in our river.
In The Journal (which can’t be shared on FB) Andrew Knack explains the virtue of a private tree bylaw outlining how it complements our zoning bylaw helping us reach our tree canopy goals.

Approximately 300 blue plastic bristles – all collected on Tawatina Bridge by two people over the past two weeks.
How can the City of Edmonton pretend this isn't a problem? We have been requesting for years that they switch to blade-based snow removal on bridges and sidewalks.
