But, SC1 Taki PORCanceling is so satisfying. Like, I've been enjoying PORC so much that I actually fear what type of player I might become when SC2 rollback drops lol

Last note is that OTG 5H does not suffer repetition penalty because its generic move that everyone has. This applies to other generic moves in the game too, like Hammer Throw (but, notably, not Hammer Throw's character specific options FROM Hammer Throw.)

In the video, Bobo has two OTG moves that have identical startup (so it's tough for the enemy to break) that allow him to do very long, free form routes to force the opponent to guess correctly or get their lifebar melted. The combo is repetition penalty safe if you've not used those moves before.

In Giant Gram 2000, you can string together long sequences where the opponent cannot do anything except manually break the reversal window with 5H.

However, if you use that move more than two times, that move gains a repetition penalty and can then be broken by directional inputs + any button.

High damage Bobo Brazil combo that can only be manually broken. The opponent cannot run, parry, or block any part of this when executed correctly.

The Under Night retrospective ends with me talking about how the game succeeded because it was made with a small team on a small budget while other giant games failed because it was impossible to meet expectations. I wrote that a month ago and it sucks it just became way more relevant.

i really read all that dialogue then said:

if it's any consolation to the 2XKO layoffs, when SRK got sold to Sony, the cannon bros never told us either. Writers on staff didn't find out until Sony announced it and we straight up didn't know if we still had jobs for a very long time afterwards until eventually the site went offline lol

Man the news about the 2XKO layoffs feels insane to me after being at Frosty and seeing how big of a presence they had there.

Also like, the game seems to always have a ton of people playing it and I always see a bunch of people with skins??? What the heck numbers were they wanting to do??

Agree with this take, I think niches will always have the people willing to do the hard part though. I've done the hard part for lil while now.

I think the thing I feel though is that it's *much* harder now. The expectations set upon you are much higher.

Thanks. I'm just tired. I just want to play fighting games. I don't know if the substance that makes them like this is more homophobia than it is alcohol, but I do know that the therapy they need is not going to be found playing me in SC1 and rage quitting into vague threats.
