It's real, and it's mind-blowing.

A complete lack of awareness and a national embarrassment.

No one leaving New York City because of Mamdani, say two top real estate CEOs New York City Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani's democratic socialist views spark fears companies and capital will flee, but top real estate CEOs say it's not true.

The idea that the rich will exodus en masse from global cities if they have to pay a bit more tax is one of the biggest cons billionaire-owned media has perpetuated

The other one is trickle-down economics

I don’t know how bad the economic numbers are going to end up this quarter. But I do know the party that controls the presidency, House and Senate is going to blame the party that doesn’t.

I've always felt that Johnson and Farage put self-interest over the national interest - hence their dallying with Putin and his oligarchs. But directly colluding with a foreign government to take down the BBC feels like an act of supreme treachery

If we're talking about bias, why do BBC politics programmes, from Politics Live to the Laura Kuennsberg Show, still always begin with a look at the newspaper front pages, which are overwhelmingly biased in one direction. Helps frame the entire news agenda and debate in their favour

NHS staff who visit patients at home say St George’s flags can mean β€˜no-go zones’ Black and Asian staff left feeling β€˜deliberately intimidated’, according to chief executive of one NHS trust

β€œA sustained campaign of anti-migrant rhetoric is fuelling a growing cesspool of racism, including against international and ethnic minority nursing staff, without whom our health and care system would simply cease to function.”

How disgraceful.

β€˜The BBC don’t realise that these people want their destruction.’

Why are right-wing media outlets so 'exercised' by the editing of a Panorama documentary? James O’Brien has an idea.

Immigration Agents Arrest Man in L.A. Raid and Drive Off With His Toddler

I wish those calling for the unmasking of ICE agents would be explicit about the obvious reason why this is necessary: these men need to be identifiable because justice demands that they be punished, severely, for what they are doing. www.nytimes.com/2025/11/07/u...

I want you to understand what it is like to live in Chicago during this time.

Every day my phone buzzes. It is a neighborhood group: four people were kidnapped at the corner drugstore. A friend a mile away sends a Slack message: she was at the scene when masked men assaulted and abducted two people on the street. A plumber working on my pipes is distraught, and I find out that two of his employees were kidnapped that morning. A week later it happens again.

An email arrives. Agents with guns have chased a teacher into the school where she works. They did not have a warrant. They dragged her away, ignoring her and her colleagues’ pleas to show proof of her documentation. That evening I stand a few feet from the parents of Rayito de Sol and listen to them describe, with anguish, how good Ms. Diana was to their children. What it is like to have strangers with guns traumatize your kids. For a teacher to hide a three-year-old child for fear they might be killed. How their relatives will no longer leave the house. I hear the pain and fury in their voices, and I wonder who will be next.

Understand what it is to pray in Chicago.

Have to say.. very tired of this now. We all know Brexit is a shitshow. Nothing is better. No one is happier.
No one who really cared about our country or understood how anything actually worked would do this and then stand around scratching their heads at the mess.

Norway struck oil in the 60s. Now it has trillions. This is how Australia compares Norway struck oil in the 1960s. Now, almost a quarter of its national budget is funded through its sovereign wealth fund. How does Australia compare with taxing its resources?

The words β€œpusillanimous” and β€œcaptured” come to mind

β€œNorway has imposed a 56% "special tax" for oil & gas companies, alongside a 22% corporate tax rate. The proceeds..have been reinvested in its sovereign wealth fund, which is now the largest in the world”

School pupils are to be taught how to tackle conspiracy theories, spot 'fake news' & root out misinformation. The Daily Mail, ajudged by Wikipedia to be an unreliable new source, is furious. You don't have to be Sherlock Holmes to work out why.

Thousands of train services now run without guard.

The reason, money saved for privately run train companies.

"Having grossly mislead the British public over the supposed benefits of Brexit which have turned out to be entirely false, Mr Farage is now turning his hand to trying to remove the U.K. from the ECHR with rather similar statements that doing so will solve immigration issues. His speech was as shallow and incoherent as it was ill informed. It neglected to mention the benefits of membership or the economic and security costs of leaving. He trumpeted the benefits of the common law and Magna Carta, ignoring the fact that the Magna Carta was needed because the CommonLaw was deficient in curbing tyranny. The ECHR has been rightly described as the Magna Carta of the 20th century. It protects our liberties. But as he is such an admirer of President Trump who is busy destroying the liberties of Americans and behaving tyrannically against his opponents we should not perhaps be surprised at his actions." Dominic Grieve, Co-President, European Movement UK and former Attorney General

Yesterday's attempt by Farage to take the UK out of the ECHR represents a story we're all too familiar with; selling a movement as a lie. Remaining in the ECHR ensures human rights, equality, and a mutual respect across communities, and it's essential that we continue to challenge these lies.

If you get fined Β£150 for pouring half a cup of coffee into the Thames, how much do you get fined for dumping two million tons of sh*t?

The answer of course is you have to pay Thames Water another Β£3bn a year.
