Archaeologist (well, HER person), historian, genealogist and 'recovering' WW2 addict with the help of The Independent Company! Also makes models to keep the voices out. (All views my own.)

16.02.2026 07:33 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Lovely part of the world. Friends have a house on the seafront at Borth so often walk up there
16.02.2026 07:14 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Oh, and also the airport that, when I forgot my penknife was in my hand luggage and owned up at security, they said "just don't get it out on the plane"
15.02.2026 21:50 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Would that be the Zurich airport where I once encountered a large dog shit laid slap-bang along one of the walkways in the shopping area?
15.02.2026 18:59 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0A WARNING ! Late , but better late than never ! Thank god for @vizcomic.bsky.social

12.02.2026 09:23 β π 1388 π 297 π¬ 57 π 9Jim Ratcliffe is a prick. I always thought he was.
He has done nothing to suggest that he is not a prick. I loathe Jim Ratcliffe and as a result I find it very hard to get behind his cycling team. He was a prick before he got into cycling. Heβs always been a prick. I hope that clears things up.
Where are the trees?
We have A LOT of this landscape and less than 4% native woodland. This should be a rich mosaic of habitats, moor, bog, woodland, montane scrubβ¦We force it to remain in this artificial state. We donβt need to give every inch of our uplands over to sheep, grouse and deer stalking.
Heard a lot about it in the cycling press but I was very glad to hear that my son was taught it at his driving theory lessons.

10.02.2026 12:13 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0If you mean to listen and type to, we use Express Scribe for our village oral history interviews. You really need a foot pedal and be able to type though! Tried otter ai and others and by the time you've taken our the errors (names etc ie kind of vital for accuracy!) it was quicker
10.02.2026 12:13 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Do you think at the end of this they'll make the local villagers walk round these camps?
10.02.2026 12:08 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0As an aside, every time I pass my wife in the car, or she passes me on my bike, we yell 'scrubbers' at each other. Although only she can use the appropriate reply it amuses us both. She did have to explain who I was to the two old ladies walking behind her the other day though......

08.02.2026 07:41 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Someone else posted this recently and itβs now cropped up in my YouTube recommendations. Proof yet again that you canβt judge the state of modern music by the state of the Spotify charts.

It's a shame mine is only a filament printer. Not great at 1:35 - best I've managed was some beer barrels for WHWFest but they were a bit ropey
07.02.2026 12:28 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Thingiverse is your friend! Loads of free bits and bobs on there and more elsewhere if you want to pay a little bit.
07.02.2026 07:29 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0It's completely beyond me how authorities can continue to ignore this fundamental issue, especially given that we KNOW that with climate breakdown floods will only keep getting worse.
Pay farmers to rewild NOW.
My dad used to work for a business partner of Noel Edmunds and got me a ride in 'Noel's helicopter'. Noel wasn't there and it might not even have been his 'copter
