I hope one major thing that comes from (waves hands around) “this” is greater respect for journalism and the people who challenge the blatant falsehoods of public figures. The “I don’t know what you mean, signal-huh?” Is just so stupid.

No meeting rooms so I’m in one of those employee stand up coffin/hyperbaric-chambers that substitute as meeting spaces. Me no like.

I’m in a bit of “news avoidance” at the moment, but where is outrage, defiance, and intervention from our elected officials (both D and R, and I guess I)? It seems a little quiet.

I’ve noticed that there isn’t a lot of calling people out for their blatant bullshit or deception in these hearings. Is that a strategy, or just unwillingness to be so direct? I feel like the people watching would benefit from more straight talk.

Complete data anonymity isn’t practical , however creating a tsunami of conflicting bullshit via generative ai is very doable.

The Pitt (TV Series 2025– ) ⭐ 8.2 | Drama | TV-MA

Watched ep1 of the Pitt (m.imdb.com/title/tt3193...). I’m really loving Noah Wyle in this. It’s HBO so the graphic medical stuff is intense, but the characters are great.

Would you help clarify why this is true? Is it because “you can’t blame everyone for the actions of the government or party “ or does it mean something else? Genuinely interested.

In my eventual speech at the “PANIC” awards (protectors against network catastrophe) my hallmark advice will be not just to write it down but to write like someone else has to read it. And maybe implement it. This will shock the crowd, since my experience is that people don’t factor this.

It’s never (imo) how exciting or advanced the tech. Many times it’s a decision between doing and just not doing it at all. The most successful security people know how to communicate risk of inaction in a quantitative manner.

I’m always surprised when people are surprised about how security decisions are made. It’s the basics, folks. How much, how often, for who, how we’re going to measure it, how we’ll know it’s working, and most of all, what were the other options we considered.
