One lesson from the Epstein–Mandelson affair is that we need to stop routinely rehabilitating political careers after serious scandals.

When politicians knowingly engage in grave ethical wrongdoing, that should permanently end their political careers. Being "talented" should not override that.

Legatum Ties One such major player in GB News is Legatum, an international investment firm based in the Dubai International Financial Centre, a tax-free zone in the United Arab Emirates. Legatum is currently GB News' co-lead investor, putting a reported £20 million into its initial £6o million fundraising. The firm's founder and chairman is Christopher Chandler, who made his fortune investing in 'emerging markets' in 'times of political and economic uncertainty, including the stripping and privatising of Russia's assets in the 199OS. The idea that Chandler, a New Zealander working in the Middle East with no known prior involvement in broadcasting, suddenly wants to make patriotic British telly seems fairly unlikely. But he is world’s most successful asset-stripper.

If you look at the men & the think tanks behind Brexit, it is the exact same men & the exact same think tanks behind Trump, and the exact same media too. Maybe one day people will see this.

For all the reporting about his 'intellect', his emails are full of simple spelling errors & are poorly written. I'd still judge a professional on that, even in casual correspondence.
(I.e. it would make me judge professional abilities/ intelligence, not the person generally.)

I'm using government as a collective noun. That includes Republicans if they made up the government.

It's crazy that the US hasn't had a single government in ~40 years that thought human rights for children should be a priority.
