Welcome Marie! Nice to see you on here! ๐
28.01.2025 08:23 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Ahh Forest! I love this app.
Im a big fan of its gamification. Admittedly I need to get back into the habit of using it frequently but been a life saver over the years.
Looking good! Iโve been really enjoying Ghostty recently, got the Tokyonight theme as well so Iโm happy.
Terminal and Neovim looking ๐ฅ
Less afraid of future success, more afraid of losing the things Iโve already succeeded in.
07.01.2025 19:31 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Donโt know about the Mac terminal but iโm a big fan of Ghostty now.
Pretty good looking terminal straight out of the box and has tonnes of themes as well.
6th for me. Although might do some side projects before then. ๐
04.01.2025 08:05 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Honestly Iโm a lot less likely to sign up for an app if it only does social oAuth. If Iโm on the fence about signing up and itโs only oAuth, that makes my decision and I donโt sign up.
Personally itโs username/email and password all the way.
Probably wonโt try Gumroad but been a big of Polar as an MoR recently.
Until Stripe has a native MoR probably wonโt use it again. Not worth the stress of international sales tax as a small creator IMO.
Nothing like the feeling of getting your first paying subscriber!
Over the weekend, doify.io got it's first paying user on the pro plan!
Time to double down for 2025! ๐ช
Such a good film! Every time I watch it, I just love it more.
Iโm so happy I got the chance to see it in 70MM IMAX last year. Out of this world experience.
This entire soundtrack is ๐ฅ
Only soundtrack that gets close for me is Oppenheimer but interstellar is still top.
Seeing Hans perform this live will forever be a favourite memory of mine.
Honestly this is my experience whenever I use AI for coding in a project.
It ends up hallucinating things that donโt exist and gaslighting me into thinking it does even when I tell it doesnโt.
Then I spend more time debugging it than if I just wrote it...
I think Iโve got accustomed to it over the years now. Although the slightly refreshed UI they just released is a bit better.
My advice is go with IaC, makes life 1000x easier.
What are you after on there?
Gotta ask the real question, whatโs your favourite Hans Zimmer soundtrack or track?
Iโm a lover of cornfield chase and time like most are. But after seeing him live, I really like Mombasa, Discombobulate, and Like a dog chasing cars.
I became such a lover of using Todoist that I made an app to extend it and add more functionality, doify.io ๐
07.12.2024 19:20 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Iโll second that, wrapped was no surprise this year for me ๐
06.12.2024 20:54 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Hidden, left-side mounted dock for the win! ๐
Here's mine though when it's shown. TBF might remove a few off it soon.
I love the indie-hacker philosphy of shipping fast.
But, I also refuse to not add integration tests for new features...
Guess I just need to write code faster to make up for it! ๐คฃ
I agree although it does surprise me how many non-tech people donโt know Stripe.
I think in our tech bubble weโre so used to it, we assume everyone knows it but itโs not always the case.
Iโm always weary with prices now after the planetscale debacle earlier in the yearโฆ
Look forward to it.
Couldnโt both of those apply to Stripe as well though?
Stripes checkout while more recognisable is still different to what theyโre accustomed to.
And while Stripes prices are less likely to increase they still could. I wouldnโt base a decision on ifs and maybes personally.
No worries, always happy to chat!
Curious to hear what you decide to go for in the end!
Thatโs the impression Iโm getting. SaaS is an ever growing industry, govs would be crazy not to look at getting their share of VAT.
I canโt comment on if someone will notice. I personally wouldnโt take the risk but thatโs a personal choice.
For me the peace of mind I get from an MoR is worth it.
Pretty much. I wouldโve used Stripe in a heartbeat but the tax issue is one I canโt get past.
Accountants will cost me more than an MoR and thatโs before keeping on top of when I need to register and deadlines etc.
A lot of govs are cracking down on SaaS sales tax/VATs, not worth the risk IMO.
Good choice in music Pauline. ๐
06.12.2024 14:23 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Having just gone round most MoRs for Doify, I settled on Polar.
Paddles support times were quite slow and miss features Iโd like. E.g. multiple stores per account
Creem was a very close second and TBF wouldโve been quite happy with them.
Went with polar as itโs OS and has the features I want.
Would love to join this list Nick if thereโs space still going! ๐
05.12.2024 16:51 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Iโve tried most of these but the only one I regularly go back to is Apple Notes.
Iโve learned the less friction the better for note taking especially since they added tags and linking notes together.
I loved Obsidian and Notion but often Iโd spend more time โgetting it perfectโ than writing notes.
Iโm forced to do a new email for every project because of AWS account and environment separation.
So I just do the email alias trick to use one email multiple times.
So I guess both ๐คท
Would love to be featured in the pack if thereโs space still going.
Currently building doify.io and got a couple more in the pipeline.
Honestly probably windows with WSL2 for development.
I love Linux as an OS and maybe I could go with PopOS but I've lost one too many days debugging Linux issues in the past.
Windows is far from perfect but it normally works and doesn't require as much debugging.
