Been also thinking about how players would fare in a raid against the Ironbloods. Here is Rufus and Osborne.

All that to say Jusis is the bestest, Rufus has a hard-on for Lloyd, and Rufus is probably going to teach Cedric how to raid lead while Jusis steps into the role naturally.

Rufus is a raid leader for the Ironbloods. Their GM is Osborne. He signs in and off periodically. When he's there, they are all going for some hardcore raiding.
Rufus has gotten best in slot for the other Ironbloods.
Ironbloods also have a reputation for being lootstealers.

This is why Rufus' daycare center makes sense. He did such a damn good job raising Rufus, which really brought out the good within him as he gave all of that to Jusis, now it's Lapis' turn. Though technically she adopted him. ;)

That being said, I think Rufus is affectionate as well to Lapis because she needs him. Rufus still believes that people are meant to be used. He holds himself to the same standards. Jusis does not need Rufus the way Lapis needs him. Jusis is Rufus' true legacy. Lapis is just starting her own journey

-hospital, Rufus is, for the first time, awkward around Jusis. He's unsure what to say, having just been made aware that yes, his brother loves and accepts ALL of him. We were cheated out of more scenes of the two and their true confirmation of that. We just see an image of Jusis visiting Rufus.

-accept both the good and bad. All sides of himself. He kept the bad parts of him hidden from Jusis until later.
So of course he'd be more affectionate to the one who accepts all of him.
We weren't able to see a lot more of Rufus-Jusis interaction after the tower, but when Jusis comes to the-

But in canon, Lapis got to know all of Rufus. Good and bad. She accepted both parts of him, because they are all Rufus. Rufus didn't think Jusis would-

I think Rufus' punishment after CS4 should have been community service. Community service would have him staying in Bareahard and being the emotional support big brother to Jusis. This includes, but is not limited to:
-Giving hugs
-Pep talks
-Horseback rides
-Listening to Jusis affirmations on Rufus

THAT is what I want. Rufus and Jusis, back to back, each sporting Ishnard and Elvars. That would be hardcore.

Which is why that if they meet up in Kai 2, Rufus will be in a healthier place and time was allowed to pass to soothe the old hurts. They're clearly still in contact with one another, at least.
As for merch, I do think Lapis is being used as a Jusis-substitute.

Hell, he was surprised to learn that Jusis still LOVED him. Jusis tells him he needs to be more upfront with his feelings, -

I think it's Jusis who would need to be the first to initiate affection to Rufus. It's up in the air how much Rufus truly feels he needs to atone for, but it's Jusis who needs to show Rufus that it's okay to hug. It's okay to go back to how they were before. Because it's Jusis who needs to accept-

But after that moment in the tower, their final dialogue changes in the corridor with Jusis being very adamant that they are family no matter what. We do see small moments of them teasing one another, testing the waters as Jusis makes comments on the sunglasses and all. But we do need more.

This is why I hate that Crow's there. These two need to have a moment of their own. I can understand why Rufus isn't being affectionate. Until Jusis saves him in the tower, Rufus does not feel he deserves any bit of love or kindness from Jusis. That's why Lloyd's words hit so hard.

Damn! I know nothing about art, but I just really adore seeing that. There's just something so vibrant. Maybe it's in the brush strokes or just your own talent.

The third one looks like it could be absolutely gorgeous with watercolors. Really niche, I know, but I think it's in the flow of the background.
