Socialist Prime Minister Edi Rama secured a comfortable majority in Albania’s election, riding a wave of pro-EU sentiment to become the country’s longest-serving democratic leader.

Very pleased to have been able to be a juror again.
Personally, I never felt so worried about democracy than now. It is therefore very important, that each of us takes active part in protecting our democratic way of living.

Albania is a strong partner of the EU.

We invest in Albania’s security through the European Peace Facility and we are now launching the first EU-Albania Security and Defence Dialogue.

This marks an important step in deepening our cooperation.
