@jonworth.eu Gestern #CrossBorderRail zwischen ESP und FRA. Am Schalter von #RENFE könne man keine Tickets verkaufen und verwies auf den Zug. Dort war allerdings niemand von der #SNCF, soweit ich das sehen konnte. Zwischen Cerberre und Portbou kann man wohl also kostenlos pendeln 😉.

NS is evil. It never passes the cheapest tickets to third parties.

Edirne - Halkalı is painfully slow currently. A daytime service will once more make sense once some of the Turkish upgrades - especially border to Edirne are done. Some works ongoing at Plovdiv too.

The track is upgraded. But the Finnish government hasn’t worked out a subsidy regime. So nothing runs. It’s absurd.

Track is limited to 120 or 160 in so many places, due to the track sinking, and it will not be fixed for years. So this is all immaterial.

Oh the regular night train into Turkey is dire for the border mess. I was lucky - I was only out of the train an hour. But the procedure is terrible.

Book it to Arlon with SNCB (inc. the bike), and then just book Arlon-Lux without a bike on B-Europe (I know it's shit, but welcome to my life. Oh and maybe Euractiv could write a thing or two about this as a Regulation should be proposed this autumn that might fix this, among other things)

The “solution” isn’t even that hard. Electrify the bridge, and use that only for passenger trains. And send freight round via Odense as now until the second tunnel is done. But no, we get these statements “it will be 3 years delayed” - so ACT consequentially!

Yay, egal mit welchem Nachbarland (außer ggf. Lux.), Deutschland versaubeutelt gemeinsame/grenzüberschreitende (Bahn-)Infrastrukturprojekte. Ist das frustrierend. 🤷🏼‍♂️🤦🏼‍♂️
