Your story is such a perfect example of taking the entirety of that kid's actions - evidence for what he was trying to do vs. a cold, self-serving read of what happened - and building real social trust on top of that practical trust. Interactions w/o that are inhuman, degrading, and everywhere now.

And that is just so incredibly *lost* in everyday life. And people blame social media and misinformation, but it began when efficiency demanded pre-printed forms that everyone must be fit into. Only made worse by automated systems for which the checkboxes *are* reality. So there's no trust.

There's a notion in my research discipline that "trust", on a practical level, is that we're each trying to understand. That my actions have meaning/purpose bc you're going to try and figure them out. So I should be effortful in my expression bc you will be effortful in your receipt. And vice-versa.
