The hardest part to shake was "So much shit goes on in the world that you want to stay plugged in." I'll find my own ways without social media. I don't think we're supposed to be THIS plugged in to every singular moment. I know I'm on the correct side of history, so I'm not as worried anymore.

Been slowly detoxing myself off social media and I've been enjoying it. Eventually I'd like for it to be all of them, but I communicate a lot on IG so that might be spared. IG/Reddit would be the hardest for me to shake, but 100% want to stop randomly scrolling Reddit too.

After grinding Severance finally a couple weeks ago, watching the final season of You just makes it so obvious how painfully mid You is.

Penn is great, but without spoilers, I think they ran out of steam and season 3 of You should have been the series conclusion.

Glad I locked in a Nintendo Switch 2 bundle pre-order the first night they were available, legitimately don't have the time to randomly be checking in the remaining weeks.

One of the biggest myths that gets shared is that friendships don't require effort/work. Yes we all may have 1-2 that we can afk from for 6+ months and pick right off, but most friendships require active effort, planning, so on. But with all of us so busy, that's why it's hard to maintain them.

Still a tad weird to think I’m permanently in San Diego after spending my life in Washington. But loving it besides the 14 fires that happened this week.

I think one of the type of friends I want to gain are travel friends, whether male or female. (Yes, I think opposite genders can travel platonically. I did it in April!) I find traveling is more enriching with company you enjoy, so I prefer it over solo. Would love to find some more travel friends.

Whether you're desiring friends or romance, you have to be INTENTIONAL. It isn't like when you're younger and the forced get togethers naturally have you making friends. If you aren't intentional about trying, you're always going to be in the same position.

If you're desiring friends, there are lots of ways to try to make new friend. Even dating apps allow you to set it to looking for friends. Join local community groups, join hobby clubs (run clubs, hiking clubs, book clubs, etc) as hobby clubs often meet irl weekly. Join relevant Discords, so on.

One of the things I find when getting older (30+) are people complaining about the lack of friends. And it's real! Your social circle naturally shrinks. However, one thing I commonly see, and even I'm guilty of: If you want new friends, are you even trying to? Or just hoping it happens? Think on it.

I am not an expert but if you are getting more and more figured out and don't adjust, indeed you are getting worse if you're just running into the brick wall ShockedPikachu style.

I think putting up a wall just because audiences may be following you for other reasons is a worse outcome. In fact, one thing I'm trying to do better of is shed the "corporate" persona my socials give off and actually be more human, as I am when offline/privately . Post what's on your mind/heart!
