This is how I felt about Veger and the dark makers. I dont mind Jak 3 being the end of the series but a lot of it feels anticlimactic? I dont think they went into this with the intent of it being the finale, but wrapped up too much in a way that feels unsatisfying

It's a fun way to trick yourself into learning. It's like how when I wanna try learning anatomy or references I don't think of it as studying a reference I just go "now we're gonna study this screencap from john wick". It goes a long way

It is funny that in Jak 3 he goes "there's no people outside of haven, not a whole city" and every game after is just "no its mostly just the ruins and deserts you gotta stay away from. Like maybe Praxis ran good propaganda. Maybe Torn said it as a joke and Jak just believed him

the ape ones are my favorite. They're just so fun to look at. Epsecially in the sewer missions when they jumpscare you and start barreling to you

It is a very nice progression. Like how do you make the dark makers scary with as little screentime as they have? They make the metal heads, the big scary monsters that almost wiped out humanity look like pawns. And also Errol. somehow.

Man I still remember being shocked by the metal heads variety. Like in Jak 2 you got these apes and lizards and those giant centipedes in the final stage. Then in Jak 3 you find the soldiers, the giant t rexes with mortar saddles in the desert(I used to love ramming them in cars), those freaky nests

I like how you feel his abscence in the next game too. The metal heads are around but they feel a bit aimless, because they lost their main leaders in kor and whatshisface from daxter

You see Metal Kor and you understand why the metal heads took over the world and Haven and Spardas are the only cities left(until lost frontier but dw about that)

Dark side now. Samos worrying about dark eco and its influence on jak after they already fought gol and Maia. The fact Dexter is just a silly little guy but Jak is more of a monster. But it would be hard to do that type of stuff in the gameplay loop you got. Also this is petty but I miss the horns

I think with Jak 2 and 3 there is a bit of a gap between the story they want to tell and the game it wants to be. Like precursor legacy is pretty in line, but there are hangups in jak 2 and 3.
