Found an old photo of this stylized portrait oil painting, roughly 15×20 cm, that I made as a gift for a friend.
It must have been around 2016 or 2017, and it has been living in her home ever since.
Letting it stay here, a small memory from another time.

Breaking rules is fine, but sometimes it looks like breaking common sense too

Sometimes I wonder if modern art is less about expression and more about visibility, less about depth and more about performance. Maybe that’s why so much of it feels hollow, trying to be seen rather than to say something.
Who else feels the same?

It feels like the line between art and content has almost vanished.
Everyone can create now, which is good in theory, but it also means the idea of "talent" has blurred into something else entirely.

For some reason, I’m often more deeply moved by works created centuries ago by long-gone masters than by what’s being made today.
Not always, but most of the time. Maybe eternity leaves a stronger echo.

I went to see it hoping to catch some inspiration, but I felt… nothing.
No offense to the artists, of course; it’s just how it resonated with me.

This is what contemporary Ukrainian art looks like.
