I read Bournville last month and now on The Rotters Club. Very enjoyable and some great social observation / commentary.

Haven’t read MMC, but I genuinely thought Richard Osman (who I have a high regard for), had a bet with his mate and said the could write a book and get a cliché onto every page.

I came to the Satsuma Complex with a sense of foreboding. So many books written by comedians and celebrities are a major let down - Thursday Murder Club an example. But I really enjoyed it.

I didn’t think he was at or near his best today.

I didn’t think we played very well today, but getting nil flattered Hibs. They brought little to the game other than to stay in the match as long as possible. They were much more impressive when we beat them 3 0 back in the Autumn. Their set pieces and passes into the final third today were dire.

I saw a woman with an amazing bee hive walking down the other side of the street last week. When she got closer I realised he was carrying a guitar in a black case on his shoulders, with the neck rising above his head. 🤦‍♂️

Game was always corrupt, but sometimes someone comes along who is so clearly on a different level, it transcends the incompetence and corruption.

And play on for 3 or 4 minutes every time the ball goes near the touch line because assistant refs are scared to put their flags up. Yesterday was bad enough with delayed flagging without adding to it. Simple answer is to is get back to VAR being used only in extremis.

The only person with anything approaching a true view was the linesman. He didn’t put his flag up, but a guy watching video from a camera at least 25m from the incident, on an angle, had the necessary proof positive to overturn his decision. It defies the laws of physics.
