A message from me after today's election result.

This has been quite the campaign. This election is vitally important for the region. Right now, though, I want to say thank you to all those who are supporting me with their vote tomorrow. I can win and that would be a win for the people of the area.

This has been a busy and fantastic week on the campaign with MPs, Peers and volunteers from right across the country coming to help the campaign to elect the first ever Lib Dem Metro Mayor - if you can help get in touch.

North Yorkshire has deep military roots, with many veterans settling here after service.

However, they often face barriers to accessing local authority housing.

I asked the Minister what’s being done to ensure local authorities better understand and meet veterans’ needs. 👇

Pharmacies are at the heart of our communities, yet closures - like the one in Jennyfields - show they are struggling.

I joined Lib Dem colleagues in calling for government action to protect these vital services. We must not let them disappear.

Liberal Democrat Hull Council Leader, Cllr Mike Ross, has called on the Government to hold an emergency meeting in East Yorkshire and to set out a Rapid Response Plan following the events unfolding in the North Sea.
