Now when I'm subtly shifting the placement of a debris mesh in a corner because it's not perfectly placed even though the player will zip by it in half a second, I will think of megabonk and scream

- NO enemy attack animations
- NO player attack animations
- Procedurally generated maps have completely flat ground or simple slopes so shrines etc can spawn easily and look good
- Items/pickups represented by simple 2D sprites

Everything is shaved down to the pure essential, truly art

Megabonk proves something we've always known to be true: quality of graphics, story/plot, art direction are all sideline to the most important aspect: the game being just really really fun

honestly a master class in effective game design and development

I spent 45 minutes with silksong and these are my first impressions: is this real? Events appear to transpire beyond some sort of barrier or screen I cannot influence aside from pressing buttons on my "side" of the dividing medium, but if these bugs are really doing all that it should be on the news

such is the journey to good taste. what's even funnier about it is after I bounced off of X-files the first time I went and watched all of Twin Peaks which is SO much slower

x files is cool man i've been watching a lot of x files and that shit is cool. I tried watching it back in the day and i thought it was boring and then i sat down as an adult, watched it, and realized that they don't make tv like this anymore
