They dont want to play another Monster RPG that fixes Pokemon's problems, they want another Monster RPG to get big enough that it theoretically forces gamefreak to lock in and make the Pokemon game of their dreams so they can play that. "Pokemon" will never leave their mouths thru this whole process

thats rly the heart of the whole "X killer" line of thinking, bc games like sonic and pokemon and smash are just as popular as they are lighting rods for anger bc of well-documented shortcomings, so everyone is looking for something to put it in its place, but do not confuse this for actual support

in general while everyone loves a good Beef I've found you want to avoid comparisons to other more popular games bc while "wow this indie platformer is what Sonic SHOULD be" sounds like a compliment, it really isn't. ppl who say that dont care about your game, they just wanna talk about Sonic.
