… To be continued…
-Broken is the soul who believes so little in the human spirit that he cannot fathom the strength and enduring inspiration that arose from such adverse, inhumane circumstances.

-Broken is the heart that refuses to have compassion for those who suffered in bondage against their will, torn asunder from their homelands and their families.
For many of us, it will have the opposite effect. It is much easier to see the cracks in our past for what they are and to understand that this administration is wielding the historical narrative as an instrument of mind control.
12.08.2025 22:03 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0We study history because it shines a light on the struggles and lived experience of those in our past. It is beyond obvious this administration wishes for us to remain ignorant and blindly loyal.

White House is is “replacing divisive or ideologically driven language with unifying, historically accurate and constructive descriptions.” And yet, who can think of a moment of more politically-induced divisiveness & ideologically driven history?!

Undoubtedly one of the biggest influences of my Gen X life. Taught real skills as well as empathy and understanding. Cannot overstate its importance to so many of us. Those furry creatures and their human neighbors are like family to me, still.
