You don't cite your source.

And I'm no Mountbatten fanboy. I think he was barely competent as a military commander, and we were lucky the war in that theatre ended when it did. Although I'll grant he was handed a poisoned chalice with India.

Yes. 2 enquiries. Only one about Andrew (at least at this time).

I will wait to see what evidence emerges from those enquiries.

I assume you will continue to jump to whatever conclusion supports your existing narrative.

The Secret Intelligence Service (commonly but wrongly called MI6) operates outside the UK.

The Security Service (Commonly MI5, or occasionally Box 500) operated within the UK.

Not semantics. Just interested if you knew even the basics of what you were talking about.

Police asking Andrew's protection officers what 'they saw or heard' as part of Epstein files review The Metropolitan Police says officers have been asked to consider whether anything

The statement from the police made no mention of sex trafficking:

UK Police forces in the 60s and 70s didn't share information with each other, never mind with outside agencies. So, the Security Service probably wouldn't have known anything about those reports.

Although to be fair, in the 60s they probably had their hands full with the Cambridge spies.

"Secret services forensically monitor the backgrounds of everyone who gets close to the Royal family"

Well, I give you 10/10 for imagination. But 0/10 for factuallity.
"Forensic" doesn't mean what you seem to think it means, and "Secret services" aren't a thing in the UK. Did you mean the SIS?

Indeed, even now, he is only being investigated for misconduct in a public office over his role as trade envoy. Not for sex trafficking.

22.02.2026 19:59 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

At the time, AFAIK, there was no evidence that he was complicit in sex trafficking, or even that he was aware she had been trafficked.

Just that he had sex with a 17 year old girl. I mean, yes that's pretty ick, but not actually illegal.

22.02.2026 19:54 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Lots of claims, but very little evidence. One might ask the same question of you.

As for Saville? He was a high-profile public figure on radio and TV in the 1960s and 70s. Maybe that was enough of a reason?
The allegations about him didn't surface until much later.

The FBI monitored Martin Luther King for decades.

I don't doubt that UK Intelligence services have been monitoring hundreds of high profile people around the world for decades. Many of them are doubtless considered to be a threat. What is your point?

22.02.2026 19:32 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

You may have noticed that when the actual evidence in the Epstein files was released people took action (at least on this side of the Pond).

22.02.2026 19:30 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Yes. There is a problem with genuine victims not being believed. Often because of cases like Carl Beech.

That case also showed that there is also a problem with people being ready to believe anything if it is lurid and scurrilous enough.

22.02.2026 19:28 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

Maybe because that excerpt also describes them as allegations?

As regards the allegations about Ireland, IIRC the HIA report concluded there was no evidence to support them. But read the report for yourself, as it's a long time since I read it.

I'm sure it's available online.

There is also no evidence that said statue ever existed. Which calls into question the veracity of the 1944 source quoted in that 1957 FBI report.
