If anyone is looking to do a postdoc on plant-insect interactions in the Sonoran Desert, I would love to sponsor one of these fellowship applications: www.simonsfoundation.org/grant/simons...
I have a bunch of project ideas ready-to-go, but I'm also happy to support independent projects as well!
There needs to be more coverage of this in the news. I have read so many stories bout this on Facebook, first hand stories of the terror of that storm, and very little coverage n media.

This gall looks like something you'd imagine a mythical fairy-like creature living in. It's shaped like a mushroom and has a small hole in the front.
The stem of a plant has a couple round growths with small holes in them.
'Tis the season to search for lumps on plants, aka galls! These growths are created in response to other organisms β often insects, fungi, or bacteria β injecting their chemicals into the plant. π§΅β€΅οΈ
