I just heard his speech

Bunkum

Donโ€™t you dare lump ME in with Israel Mr. Herzog!!

I am clearly pro PALESTINE ๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ธ

Because your country sir, is an international bully, committing genocide for the whole world to see

My condolences to all the families traumatised on the 14th December in Bondi ๐Ÿ•Žโœก๏ธ

On the other hand the EU could probably do quite well without the โ€œvan guysโ€.

Allowing those jobs to go to our own up and coming talents trying to establish themselves would be far more valuable to the EU.

They had their chance even those that never should have had one (those who loved illegally in Spain).

The amnesty doesnโ€™t apply to them as far as I have seen.

Hi, i need a little help understanding this new window open for residency between april and June this year. I have all the proof for living here since 2017 but if you have to have had a previous contract or have relatives here or vulnerable I dont qualify. Is there any way forward for me to apply for this?

โ€ฆthe Spanish government being extremely flexible in allowing even those who were โ€œirregularโ€ to do so

Now asking for advice to try to hack the system by applying for the newly announced โ€œamnestyโ€

Utterly absurd

You had your chance but you chose to not commit to the EU.

The EU owes you less than nothing.

It is not the job of the EU to take care of tourists from 3rd countries.

That would be the job of their own governments.

As you now โ€œpart year residentโ€ doesnโ€™t exist as a category. It is just privileged tourists.

No contribution means no benefits.

09.02.2026 02:41 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 0    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

โ€ฆout.

Those are on the way out.

It is not our job to save you from the consequences of your own actionsโ€ฆeven less so when it would undermine what we have created.

We are extremely friendly. You are not. You constantly try to undermine the EU.

I have a solutionโ€ฆstay away.

You really should be kicked

I imagine Andrew is aware, but is stringing you along, as he does on other social media to scores of poor people.

We're getting rid of those facilities for the likes of Canada, which are in the main not even used anyhow.

Delusional doesnโ€™t even begin to cover it.

It's like a whole country suffering from main-character syndrome.

Nahhโ€ฆyou can leave โ€ฆrest assured that you will not be missed.

Easily substituted by locals or EU citizens.

EU citizens willing to integrate and without your sense of entitlement/exceptionalism.

A win-win for everybodyโ€ฆeverybody that counts that is.

By ending it for people coming to the UK they ended it in reverse.

That is primary school maths.

08.02.2026 11:34 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 7    ๐Ÿ” 2    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

You left the treaties that allowed for UK citizens to have FoM.

You donโ€™t get a free ride. The UKs sense of entitlement gave birth to Brexit. You show that this entitlement is still alive and well.

09.02.2026 02:26 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 0    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

No, the UK electorate chose to withdraw from the enabling treaties

08.02.2026 11:49 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 8    ๐Ÿ” 1    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

The UK chose to end this when they chose to leave the EU.

You donโ€™t get to use the gym when you cancel your membership. Even most kids understand this.

09.02.2026 02:24 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 0    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Indeed. The UK electorate voted to put the UK in this situationโ€ฆrepeatedly.

09.02.2026 02:23 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 0    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Exactly this

08.02.2026 13:17 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 3    ๐Ÿ” 1    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

I remember Priti Patel announcing its end to cheers echoing around the HoC. In case you missed it, we voted that government in and they said exactly what their plan was. The promised to end FoM and they did.

08.02.2026 12:22 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 10    ๐Ÿ” 3    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 2    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

โ€ฆwas to allow the UK to leave.

People really should have thought about the consequences of their vote.

Of course they later reelected the government that made the deal with the EUโ€ฆso there really are no excuses.

At the 2024 GE 70%+ voted for hard Brexit parties.

09.02.2026 02:21 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 0    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

The default when leaving the EU is leaving all the treaties. There is absolutely no guarantee that the EU would have negotiated any agreement that would have allowed the UK to stay in the SM and keep FoM.

The UK was never going to dictate anything to the EU. The only thing we in the EU owed the UK

09.02.2026 02:18 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 0    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

You know this isn't true, so why keep repeating it?

FOM applies to EU citizens and EFTA citizens.

You are an EU/EFTA citizen if your country is on EU/EFTA.

UK left EU. Saying EU ended British FOM inverts the truth.

08.02.2026 12:06 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 12    ๐Ÿ” 3    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 2    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

If you know you need a majority of seats - which is still the case - then you have to generate that.

It is possible that 2024 was the chance. I feel quite down about where the UK is at when it comes to Euro relations

08.02.2026 12:11 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 5    ๐Ÿ” 1    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

You forgot the crap electorate.

They have had many opportunities to choose a different path but they didnโ€™t.

Their ignorance and arrogance is nobodyโ€™s fault but their own.

09.02.2026 02:14 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 0    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

They were the constitutional arrangements coming in, as per European treaty law. The voters understood that.

At ho point do you hear people say, "we did this, up to us to fix it"

Instead they blame everyone else, including foreigners and the UKGs they elected.

The UK is not a colony

08.02.2026 11:52 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 7    ๐Ÿ” 1    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

That is an outright lie, and a bizarre one at that.

08.02.2026 13:56 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 5    ๐Ÿ” 1    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

No, you did. You collectively did by consistently voting for harder and harder Brexit in accordance with your constitutional arrangements.

Either way, the default was always no FoM and no citizenship

08.02.2026 11:04 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 26    ๐Ÿ” 2    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Must have been more than once.

09.02.2026 02:11 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 0    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

You vote, you vote again. That's how democracy works.

Denying the whole process and saying it's up to foreigners to ignore it, or worse saying it's up to Europe to fix the problems of the UK's choice, is infantikisation of a country.

If the rumours are true that Starmer will just promote one of his deputies to the role then basically heโ€™ll be getting the same advice but with a different accent
