Lib Dem MP & member of the joint human rights select committee, @tomgordonld.bsky.social says he has “serious concerns” over the Government’s choice of Chair for the Equality and Human Rights Commission as she failed to demonstrate “sufficient understanding” of issues including race and disability.

Yet again, North Yorkshire has been forgotten by the Labour Government in favour of their urban strongholds to the south.

We were promised that a combined authority and a mayor would get us more investment - instead, people in our area - especially commuters - have been shafted.

24 hours later, I am still furious at the Conservative decision to block my motion to protect care experienced people in our area.

This was a callous, unnecessary decision by the Tories to block a motion for no reason other than party politics.

It was great to be joined by @tomgordonld.bsky.social when we visited the Woodlands pub on Wetherby Road to talk to the manager, Paul, and Guy from Heineken!

We learned all about the opportunities of the hospitality and brewing industries, and also hear the challenges they’re currently rising to.

📺 This week, I featured on ITV Calendar about my campaign to fix the spray foam insulation scandal.

💷 Thousands used government grants and approved suppliers, only to be left with damaged properties.

💼 Today, I’ll raise this issue with the Minister in the adjournment debate I’ve secured.

This is an amazing victory!
