Book of the Month!

“This warty portrait of a crumbling judiciary rings horribly true…A hugely entertaining and disturbing debut.”

A very important caveat to the "AI stethoscope" that was completely ignored by many news outlets.

Yet a high false positive rate can make a screening tool more harmful than useful.

How can we encourage health journalists to be more critical of AI press releases?

I don’t think the media explains to people properly what politicians are doing to the NHS 🚨-this is more important than ever, because Labour is advancing NHS privatisation.

I started a newsletter in my spare time to explain what’s going on. Click here: jujuliagrace.substack.com💙

Reeves says Thames Water should find ‘market-based solution’ Chancellor aims to reassure creditors but says ministers are planning for all options including special administration

To appease bankers Reeves says Thames Water should find ‘market-based solution’.

Not possible. It is a monopoly, no competition, no choice.

Since 1989 TW paid £10.4bn in dividends, £13.68bn interest payments. Rocketing bills, sewage in rivers.

We can't afford more of the same.

Nationalise water.

As we watch Keir Starmer and his team expand NHS privatisation, please remember that he was elected to become Labour leader saying specifically that he would remove NHS private outsourcing. He then quietly dropped this pledge in Summer 2022.

This isn’t OK 🚨

PSA for anyone interested in cow with calf milk. I visited the farm a few years ago but at that stage they were not doing mail order. With p&p it costs about the same as organic oat milk. Easy to freeze & indistinguishable from fresh when defrosted oldhallfarmshop.co.uk

And sensibly (and a good indication of J taking a measured approach) he declined to decide if his decision would also apply to a police officer out of uniform because of insufficient evidence and submissions on right to private life etc.

I’d read the entry on Tom Cross KC’s chambers’ website so had the correct name but hadn’t troubled to find the judgment itself. Your enquiry prompted me to read it and I’m pleased I did because, as ever, the reports of it miss so much. So thx for prompting me to.
