A page from the first Molesworth book. The text reads:
“ST CUSTARD'S: BY THE CAMERA CLUB
grabber who is head of the skool captane of everything and winer of he mrs joyful prize for rafia work. His pater is very rich and hav a super rolls enuff said. He is bigger than me so i must be careful.
Our skool dog thinking. He is planning to dash across the pitch and pinch the criket ball then bite the umpire in the leg which was super.
He is not bad but he scored a gole against us in one match.”
The two illustrations are by Ronald Searle. Grabber is every bit as you would expect: haughty, disdainful, holding a football under his arm. The skool dog has the furtive air of one about to pinch the criket ball ect ect chiz chiz
I’m rereading Molesworth and its panacean qualities remain undimmed.

The biggest news of the week is that it rained – a peaceful week in Athens
A week spent largely at home after all the fun of last week's holiday. Still, a v pleasant if uneventful time in the burbs. I feel like I'm not really selling this blog post but here we are.

Yeah I find myself using the great NetNewsWire RSS reader Mac/iOS app more and more (i use my own aggregator spike.news for firehose feeds) and since Apollo was killed off I rarely go to Reddit but i do subscribe to a few subreddit #rss feeds (just add .rss to a subreddit url)

Downgraded my full #adobe creative cloud subscription to just #illustrator. First time without photoshop on my mac in 25 years.
Going to give Affinity Photo a shot or maybe Pixelmator Pro instead…

What I did on my holiday to Mount Pelion – some of the prettiest mountains, beaches and villages I've ever seen.
Late greeknotes due to a week's holiday in paradise, aka Mount Pelion. Good: europe's best beach. Less good: terrifying wildfires, looming climate apocalypse

Exploring Kifisa, visiting a natural history museum, and a lot more time spent eating cheese than running
Athenian delights this week include: a natural history museum, a forbidden swimming pool, a posh neighbouring neighbourhood, Hadrian's aqueduct, and a new and exciting way of eating feta.
