Carney pledges $150M boost to 'underfunded' CBC | CBC News Liberal Leader Mark Carney said on Friday that his government would provide an initial $150-million annual funding increase to CBC and Radio-Canada as part of a new mandate for the public broadcaster.

Mark Carney is making a stand. Voters have a choice to properly fund the CBC or defund it with Poilievre. I believe the CBC is one reason why #disinformation has trouble gaining ground in Canada, despite foreign ownership of newspaper chains and social media.

This is an opportunity for nations like Canada to reclaim the mRNA platform by investing heavily in its local development. It truly is transformative technology that will help define a new age of immunotherapy.

Science is under attack and increasingly mistrusted. We can work against proximate threats like specific politicians, but we need a strategy for addressing the base cause, which is that our current information system favours extreme views over truth, and that is having anti-science consequences

Is there a social media system that can promote truth? I'm not sure. Selection for attention over truth will be part of any online ecosystem. Is there any antidote that would be acceptable in a democratic system? I'm not sure of that either.
