At this time of year, fairy rings appear. These are rings of mushrooms or fungii which start out as a single spore. As the underground mycelium grows outwards, it depletes the soil mutrients in the middle and these parts die off.

💧 Despite growing up in Paisley & learning a wee bit about the patron saint of Glasgow St Mungo, I don’t recall being taught anything about his mum Thenue, nor that there used to be a chapel, burial ground & holy well in the vicinity of present day St Enoch Shopping centre.
