We do 🙃 many libraries see that when they go fine free, a lot of missing books turn back up 😉 it helps take away the shame & guilt, but also helps people to come back because they won’t feel forced to pay those late fees.

& surely we know the demographics of those who need the library the most

Friendly former library worker reminder that library fines helps no one. It ends up costing the library more money to charge and collect those fines than it is to ignore late returns.

“But how do you get your books back?”

I say this cause it’s been 10+ years since using that library, now live in a completely different state, but it wasn’t until this year that I stopped feeling shame, guilt, and anxiety if I forgot to pick up a library hold in time 🥲

Did anyone else have a library that liked to charge you fines if you didn’t pick your holds? Hometown library back in Texas used to charge you something like 10-25 cents for every book/movie hold if you didn’t come get it before the hold expired.

1. Texas A&M has voted that Professors must seek out official permission to talk about trans people, sexuality, or race.

One of the professors said that the new policy would make routine lessons on things like the Holocaust impossible.

Couple of exciting things happening in the city:
-the library is unionizing ✊🏻
-the city has launched an ambitious public works project that aims to turn 2 miles of the city into a walkable path. They are calling it the “Capital Line,” & they hope to be done with major construction of it next year

I think a lot more of us need to be angry over how “AI” is propping our economy. Or rather, “popping” our economy.

These Silicon Valley tech barons created a problem, and of course now they are gonna cash out and run from it.

A new pink flag I’ve found is the self proclaimed Leftist man who has been perpetually single for years, but still gets around.

I get that women are getting red pilled lately, making it extra harder for everyone to date, but the demographics don’t let the math be mathing.

So if AI succeeds loads of people lose their jobs as they're replaced by AI, and if AI fails, loads of people lose their jobs as the economy crashes?

I get that some are worried Majorie Taylor Greene will be undeservedly rehabilitated in her image, but I gotta be honest: I just don't see it. I really don't. I think she's pretty much sealed her public image for Democrats. What matters to me right now is that she's a useful thorn in Trump's side.
