I told someone on Thursday after I saw the Wednesday numbers that I had a feeling it would top last weekend’s numbers, which they thought was insane. It’s now a possibility. I don’t think I’ve ever seen word of mouth like this.

Coogler and Jordan have been nothing but successes. They've had both critical and box office successes. If people fear they will destroy the studio system as we know it, let them. It hasn't been working out so hot since tech came in to "revolutionize" it.

We keep saying the industry is dying, but it seems every time there is a glimmer of hope, the headlines are still negative, and most of the time, it's because the film wasn't directed by a white guy. No matter what F1 does in a few months, I'm telling you, the coverage will be different.

This has some of the best word of mouth I've seen in the past decade, and it will continue to make money. Movies are not won in their opening weekend anymore. Deadline reported that 81% of the people tested said they would tell people to see this in theaters now, not at home. Insane numbers.

This is a continuing trend from entertainment media when it comes to movies from POC filmmakers, female filmmakers, & any film that feels diverse in any way. They are trying to kill them on the vine. SINNERS is the definition of a success, and the coverage for weeks has been that it's going to fail.
