He's very careful to be specific and say he's never "physically" hurt anyone. Because he knows very well that he has profoundly hurt and even caused the deaths of many, many people through DOGE's activities. He knows. So he knows very well why people hate him.

Every stupid policy move that Trump makes, there's only one consistent element. It's bad for the US, every time. Whether its destroying American diplomacy, trade, civil rights, the civil service, democracy or the rule of law... it never, ever benefit Americans. Who benefits from destroying America?

It's horrifying and it's insane, but it tracks. His thesis is certainly consistent with everything we've been seeing.

I feel like this captures the difference between Republicans and Democrats so well. One will take any opportunity to punch down, no matter how petty. The other is willing to stand up to bullying and abuse and not back down. And it's so in character for the bully to flee in the end.

Just as Hitler rose from the ashes and grievances of World War I, it looks like Trump’s dream is to reduce the United States to rubble so that he can turn what’s left of our once great country into his base of aggressively expansionist operations in alliance with Vladimir Putin and a few oligarchs.

Exactly this. Trump et al are breaking laws so rapidly, they simply cannot afford to give up power for fear of facing consequences. Ending democracy transforms from an ambition to a survival-level necessity. Any atrocity becomes acceptable to preserve their own lives and liberty.
