Steve Cropper, masterful guitarist and member of Stax Records' Booker T and the M.G.'s, has died at age 84 Cropper also became known to younger fans as member of the group backing Blues Brothers John Belushi and Dan Aykroyd.

One thing I didn’t expect as I get older is how much I’m grieving my youth.

I'm 67. My musical influences go all the way back to The Beatles on Ed Sullivan in 1964. Moving forward, I embraced & digested rock music, pop music, classical music, jazz, blues, country, and many alternatives thru the 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, & 2000s. So my creative aesthetic isn't exactly "current".

Best recorded rock guitar performance? I'll start - "Machine Gun" from Jimi Hendrix's Band of Gypsies live album.
