People who say "I don't want politics in my media" actually mean "I don't want *those* politics." We want to be affirmed, not challenged.

And tbh, I get it. Life is hard, and not everything has to be a point of contention. But life could be less hard, and we don't get there with apathy.

The two party system by its nature leads to these abuses.
I'm Canadian by the way. And our first past the post multi-party system had its faults and weaknesses.
I believe a preferential voting system would go a long way to creating a more civil discourse.
