Reject Transgender Liberalism | Jules Gill-Peterson In the wake of the most recent Supreme Court term, it’s clear the trans movement must change legal and political courseβ€”but what might that look like?

The front cover of Ancient Mediterranean Incarceration by Matthew Larsen and Mark Letteney.

The front cover of Ancient Mediterranean Incarceration by Matthew Larsen and Mark Letteney.

If the authors (including @letteney.bsky.social) are right about the pervasiveness of incarceration in the ancient Mediterranean world, then this book will require a paradigm shift in how we think about coercion and social control in antiquity.

Not often that the historiographic stakes are so high!

Both Yale and Connecticut Children's will be closing their gender clinics or limiting new prescriptions.

That leaves Connecticut without a gender clinic to provide care to trans youth despite having a robust shield law.

Fed up with the Liberty's seeming insistence on lesbian erasure, Dobkin brought a banner reading "Lesbians for Liberty" to a game on June 27, 1999, which was Gay Pride Day.
According to a flyer from the Lesbian Herstory Archives (and her own testimony), she was then asked to leave by security. Not to be deterred, Lesbians for Liberty returned to Madison Square Garden as a full-fledged group at a game in August 1999. According to reporting from the Village Voice at the time, the group held up Dobkin's "Lesbians for Liberty" banner outside the Garden before the game, in addition to holding it up several times during the game itself.

Then, in a full-circle moment, the Liberty itself contacted the Lesbian Herstory Archives in February of this year to inquire about a collaboration for the team's Pride game. The volunteers at the Archives pitched the idea of setting up an archival exhibit in the concourse of the Barclays Center, where the team now plays, and the Liberty agreed. Why do those image mills like @gettyimages.com suck?

Well, consider this from the BBC in an article about Auschwitz.

So, that's NOT HΓΆss; it's Friedrich Warzok.

And it's NOT Auschwitz; it's Janowska...in Ukraine.

Killing Centers: An Overview The Nazis established killing centers in German-occupied Europe during WWII. They built these killing centers for the mass murder of human beings.

dachau was never an extermination camp (that is, killing center) but i agree entirely with the substance of what you are saying.

Dear history documentaries,

There are actually lots of historians of your subject out there that can talk on camera. You don't have to hire that journalist who wrote one airport bookstore book on the topic,

Alex Byrne, an MIT philosophy professor came forward in a Washington Post opinion piece as an author of HHS hit job on gender affirming care. He immediately proceeded to push the insane conspiracy that people are trying to "trans the gay away."

Supreme Court Upholds Tennessee Law Banning Care for Trans Kids 'U.S. v. Skrmetti' concerns a law restricting puberty blockers and hormone therapy for trans kids under 18 β€”Β but not for non-trans youth.

When Dobbs came down, the media rightly saw it as the culmination of a decades long effort to eliminate abortion rights by the conservative legal movement. When Skrmetti came down, the media blamed trans people and not that same conservative legal machine.

It's the same court and lawyers.

The NYT's anti-trans fear mongering was cited in a Supreme Court briefing that stripped away the rights of trans kids. They need to be fully blacklisted by queer people and their allies. Don't work for them. Don't use them for book press. Don't speak with them for stories. They made their bed.

This framing exists because the decision is instantly obvious as one of the legal atrocities of US history, like Dred Scot, the 1870s Civil Rights Cases, Korematsu. The Times doesn’t want to say β€œThe Supreme Court stripped rights out of law” so instead it says β€œHere’s why they did it to themselves”

SCOTUS upholds Tennessee's ban on trans minors' gender-affirming medical care The 6-3 decision from Chief Justice John Roberts, issued along partisan lines, will serve to empower those seeking to discriminate against transgender people.

The U.S. Supreme Court on Wednesday morning upheld Tennessee’s ban on gender-affirming medical care for transgender minors as constitutional.
