Ross has been caught twice making covert overtures to coaches (Harbaugh / Payton) while going behind the back of the existing coach (Sparano/ Flores).

There is certainly validity to that, but if you’re presumably going looking for HC/GM candidates, that can’t be a litmus test during the interview process.

While Ross has technically ONLY hired first time head coaches, he did have failed pursuits of Jim Harbaugh & Jeff Fisher, whom were experienced coaches.
