The other brilliant book is Jakko Jakszyk's self-told life story. A complicated personal background, and a mad journey, thru Level 42, into his own favourite band, King Crimson, is described in high-speed, chatty, style. You'll laugh at rock n roll. You'll cry at human life.

I read a LOT of music books. This year, 2 have really blown my mind. Kevin Rowland's memoir is painfully honest and self-critical. You end up wanting to reassure Kevin that it's all been worth it, for us at least. Hopefully for him too. Those records! This book!
