The Positives Of The Jeff Ulbrich Hire..
youtube.com/watch?v=_2mk...
Why am I liking these hires better than the actual defensive coordinator selection? It’s weird but overall I’m not down on the defensive additions.. I believe if we can get the right players in here these guys will surprise.

Interesting..

It’s not that Ulbrich is a bad hire it’s just the fact that we’ve seen this before and most people know the sequel isn’t often as good as the original. Here’s to hoping for a new classic.
19.01.2025 14:35 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Could Ulbrich ultimately be a an upgrade? Maybe, but the move doesn’t inspire fans to believe anything will improve because it’s more of the same. That’s why most fans will likely be taking a waiting and see approach to the Atlanta Falcons 2025 season.
19.01.2025 14:32 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0The issue with having that mindset is Morris is the leader of a team that has experienced disappointment far too frequently. Bringing back anything associated with past failures was always going to be frowned upon. Especially when it comes in the midst of higher profile seemingly better options.
19.01.2025 14:26 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0With that in mind, the one thought I keep coming back to is maybe Morris feels his team is more in need of competency and consistency than drastic change. Given the results of the 4 week stretch it was said that Morris was more hands on I could see an argument for this realm of thought.
19.01.2025 14:21 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0With that being the case in the minds of many of the Falcons fanbase it once again calls Raheem Morris’ judgment into question. With that in mind I’d like to try to figure out the WHY’s of the decision as opposed to WHAT decision was made.
19.01.2025 14:11 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0That goes to say nothing of Ulbrich’s capabilities as a DC. I’ll go on record as saying I think he could very well do an awesome job. However, his selection doesn’t bring about change to an organization that is sorely in need of it. It’s a selection that appears to be one of comfortability.
19.01.2025 13:45 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0I’ll say I’ve had to look at this hiring from a different perspective. It’s not the exciting young guy or the hot candidate teams were clamoring to bring into the fold.. it’s just Morris’ good friend. That’s how this move is viewed widely and that is exactly why it doesn’t move the needle for fans.
19.01.2025 13:38 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0The Atlanta Falcons have name Jeff Ulbrich their new defensive coordinator. On the surface this is a underwhelming hire for many fans. I’ve lamented my disappointment on several platforms but that sentiment has more to do with Raheem Morris’ decision to reach backwards and turn to a familiar face.
19.01.2025 13:26 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0Raheem must want to be fired. Out of all the candidates available the one everyone said he’d hire ends up being the choice?
He said he’d learned from allowing his ego to control his decisions but this makes that statement look like a lie. He’s sealed his fate.. Either this turns out great or adios
Everyone is getting fired next season if it doesn’t work so either they’re gonna get their shit together or we won’t have to see any of’em again. Either way we win.
19.01.2025 12:55 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Basically money talks.. and now we’ll get all of these people who swear that piece of shit is some great President when all he does is break laws and line his pockets.
19.01.2025 12:48 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Saw Dan Quin and Shanahan run this exact same play with Julio Jones with the same exact result
19.01.2025 12:41 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0The Atlanta Falcons have hired former New York Jets defensive coordinator and interim head coach Jeff Ulbrich as their defensive coordinator, the team announced.

Wink Martindale called him the best secondary coach in the NFL back in 2022, too, so a name to keep an eye on for the Falcons

The Falcons still need pass rush help, and unsurprisingly mock drafts are trying to land Atlanta that help at pick 15

14.01.2025 11:01 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0I’m glad they didn’t waist time making this move. Jimmy Lake was the weakest link. Now please get Robert Saleh or Steve Wilks in here to unleash these guys. We saw what the defense looked like when Rah was more involved now we need a guy who can do it on his own.
