probably my most pretentious gaming take is that “games are meant to be fun!” is a deeply anti-art statement.

i firmly believe that “the game you had the most fun with is not always the better game” but there’s no way for me to express this sentiment without sounding like an asshole

also need to have a conversation with everyone who says between two fires is “like dark souls” because no the hell it is NOT

forgot to post about it but i finished reading between two fires a couple weeks ago and it just confirmed that my taste in books does *not* align with popular consensus. had a handful of chapters i enjoyed but overall that shit was kind of a slog to get through

dunno who gave it mixed reviews, but i promise they’re wrong. Echoes of the Eye is outstanding, largely as good as the base game in a lot of ways.
