Managed to sneak into the top 8 of the legacy challenge today. Unfortunately, I got quickly dispatched by Sneak Show. Ran back the list I played at our monthly last weekend.

After a couple of not so great finishes, I gave Wight Depths one more shot at our 60 people monthly tournament. The list definitely felt better than the last ones I tried. At least I got to test the combo matchups today 😬

The judge call took half an hour, so there definitely was a cheating investigation.

You can absolutely argue that a fuck up like that should be a game loss at REL competitive, but apparently that's not how the current MTR works

Did he actually draw 4? I thought he just put the brainstorm back in his hand together with the 3 cards and then put it on top of the library.

I think a cheat makes little sense in that spot because his opponent was basically dead on board. So I'd give him the benefit of the doubt

I have to say I'm glad that I'm not in Europe right now

While I tend to play archetypes that are decent vs Reanimator, boy does that B&R announcement kill my excitement for Legacy

I've been testing GB Wight Depths for a bit and was in the mood to play a challenge. Got a 4:2.

The deck probably isn't better than Cradle Control, but it's definitely something you can do if you prefer lands shenanigans over NO.

You could consider them spiritual successors of Maverick

At least they're not buffing a deck that kills you on turn 2, so that's a win

If you want to play fair GW, you'd probably have to rebuild the deck from the ground up and look at stuff like the MH3 energy shell.

It's rough playing a somewhat clunky creature deck without an i-win-button in today's Legacy. I feel a bit underpowered when I play GW Depths so I can't imagine how it must be with actual Maverick 😐

It can get a Savannah so that's... technically correct?
