Patrick & Daymon being hired as the new WCC coaches was absolutely not on my bingo card for 2024!

On one hand, I’m excited. On the other hand, I’m scared.

According to the limits set before the meet, I don’t think anyone would be added to the National Team. I’m hoping they’ll still end up adding some for motivation & team purposes.

Back to gymnastics we go I guess! In two days there will be a meet in which gymnasts can earn a spot on the Dutch national team.

Some odd ones missing. All of Topturnen Zuid (where Tisha trains), Hazenkamp, but also Tara Hanaseth? Curious what the reasoning is.

But maybe you’re always longing for what was. Or what could’ve been. I feel lonely, but I also know it’s only me that’s to blame for that. So no feeling “sorry for myself”.
Today is a little extra rough with it being such a “family/friend holiday” here today.

The way I really struggle with December in general and it’s… just been absolutely horrible so far… I am trying to see all the little bright lights, but it’s been hard. There’s so much sadness, some anger, some disappointment. I guess I miss “grey November”.

I am definitely not criticizing your interviewing skills, because I've been loving the insights into all the different programs, hearing about how they all approach the season differently.. where they're at.. :)

At this point in season it is hard to predict who will do what, but some coaches have been a little more "yes this one will make a big impact from the start, this one.. yeah definitely in contention for the AA!". Which, I guess, they aren't lying, haha. Everyone is in contention as long as they

Oh absolutely! I wasn't talking about Carly specifically, just in general. I think it's good that coaches don't rule anyone out, because a. you never know what's going to happen in season, b. you don't want to discourage anyone (and there's probably reason c d e & f for it too haha).

And I totally understand the coaches won’t say “oh X won’t make any lineups but they’ll build skill, experience & confidence for the upcoming seasons”… but saying everyone is likely for the aa is 🥲

Also kind of wish coaches were a bit more… honest about who’s making lineups in the Coaches Corner in the @allthingsgympod.bsky.social Everyone seems to be making appearances in many lineups 😂
