Albemarle County found $500k in cost savings this budget cycle and that doesn’t even break my top 10 accomplishments.

The role of local government in inventory is clear, but I’m curious if there’s any role for local gov/policy in taming insurance rates. I know whether a locality provides fire coverage can influence it, but I assume insurers don’t underwrite with enough granularity to capture other policies.

Setting aside moral arguments, I hope Gov. Youngkin can appreciate that deporting 20-30% of the construction sector workforce during a crisis in affordable housing supply is bad business sense.
