Haitian migrants can’t exactly become SAT tutors, so they come and replace tree trimmers. American workers—like my dad—pay the price when cheap foreign labor floods our country.

Delighted to be invited as a guest judge for St. John’s Memorial Church’s annual chili cook off. And congratulations to City Councilor Lloyd Snook for winning the grand prize!

As always, I will happily offer my opinions and criticism in exchange for food.

We’re a split household. Will is always cooking and baking and gets some fancy European butter with no salt and no (imo) flavor. I use butter (or mayo) exclusively for making grilled breakfast sandwiches and get delish, cheap-ass store brand salted.

New Epstein emails appear to reveal more Trump ties Democrats on the House Oversight Committee have released several emails from the estate of convicted sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein that refer to President Trump.

After waiting 62 days to see if Rep. McGuire, who previously defended child marriage in Virginia, would cast the necessary final vote to release the Epstein files, we finally see why. John is more loyal to Washington elites than he is to protecting young victims of sex crimes.

I’ve seen a few clips but haven’t yet watched the whole segment. But these are two of the most impressive up-and-coming Congressmen, in my opinion, and I’m excited to listen in!

I’ve told people that it’s canny *politics* but terrible policy. Increases the income band of qualified borrowers, thereby increasing sales in the short run and throwing gas in the market. Trump takes credit for short term affordability+sales boom. But the only real winners are the lenders

Yesterday's results make it clear: we're excited for change. With Congress asleep at the wheel, voters want representation that shows up to work. We’re ready to flip #VA05 to stand up for healthcare, good jobs, and a future where working people get ahead. One year until we win this race.

I’ve been a little under the weather the past several days, so Halloween has mostly involved puttering around the house and watching scary movies. But I still had to break out the matching dragon costumes for me and Jo. Hope all of #va05 has a safe and happy Halloween!

Over the last week, I’ve watched my community scramble. Food pantries, churches, and neighbors have braced to support the thousands of Albemarle residents afraid of going without food. Rep. McGuire peacocking at a food bank while his inaction makes folks go hungry is the darkest irony I can imagine.

As a Duke and UVA alum, I sometimes have divided loyalties. But either way, GTHC is a lifestyle.

By now y’all have probably heard the news about redistricting. This may change the #VA05 but it ain’t changing this race.
I’m going to keep fighting for working class folks.
I’m going to keep fighting for left behind rural communities.
And by God, we’re gonna win, whatever the district lines are.

The same corporations that want to gut this district bankroll my opponent’s campaign. Unlike McGuire, we can’t take shortcuts. Our momentum is testament to regular folks who believe in our vision. People know we can plant the seeds for a more just America in VA05.

News of a child on the way should be a joy. For too many folks our age, it brings fear: how will we afford childcare? Do we have to move for schools? Can I take time from work?

It should be easier to fill out homes with children’s laughter than with handwringing and debt.

Had an absolute blast at Batesville’s apple butter weekend. Shout out to the Batesville Ruritans and local community for keeping this small town magic and tradition alive
