This is the most fun I've had doing Driltor Who in ages; thanks so much for sending it my way.

20.02.2026 18:46 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I was shocked how hard that Jerome Bixby story hit when I first read it about a year ago.
14.02.2026 18:37 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0We love to see it.
13.02.2026 13:58 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0This sounds fantastic. If you're looking for reviewers, I'd be very happy to write about this project.
13.02.2026 13:58 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Since my timeline is full of people posting their Hugo-eligible works, I'll repost my 2025 essay on AI girlfriends and why they're a very bad idea.
If you'd consider it worth nominating, I'd be very grateful:

Fair enough; thanks for the tip.
Better roll up my sleeves; there's seventy-odd short stories to research about!
What are people's favourite pieces of writing on the history of the Hugo Awards? I'm especially interested in the award for Best Short Story.
I know I need to read Jo Walton, but what else do people recommend?
Also happy to see @strangehorizons.bsky.social pieces from @williamshaw.bsky.social @hararereview.com and Paul March-Russell on this longlist. Reading the second two pre-pub, I hoped for a wide readership; Willβs, edited by @gautambhatia88.bsky.social, is as insightful as all his reviews. Fab stuff.
25.01.2026 18:45 β π 5 π 3 π¬ 1 π 0Thank you very much! I was so pleased to publish with Strange Horizons; I'm not sure that anywhere else would have taken on such a consciously offbeat, wide-ranging piece.

My essay "Neither Girls Nor Friends: the Artificial Woman in American Science Fiction," is longlisted for the British Science Fiction Association Award for short non-fiction!
My thanks to everyone at Strange Horizons, and to everyone who read and shared the piece.

This post is how I found out I was on the longlist! Incredible. Huge thanks to you, @gautambhatia88.bsky.social and everyone else at Strange Horizons who helped make my piece what it was.

Congrats to everyone on this list: you're officially a BNW-nominated author! And thank you to the hundreds who submitted, as always this was excruciating to narrow down.

Thanks very much! I love the Brave New Weird series, it feels a bit surreal (positive!) to be shortlisted.
14.01.2026 15:06 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I'm so thrilled to have my story, "The Universeβs Best Erotic Writing, Volume 1: A Book Review by Ian Harrison" shortlisted for the 2025 Brave New Weird Award!

I shall simply carry around a copy of the Danvanista art to show people whenever they mention the film to me.

Part 3 of @strangehorizons.bsky.social's 2025 In Review is here. Among others, @subham6.bsky.social, @rtbm.bsky.social, and @williamshaw.bsky.social pass their judgements on the year gone by.
Nileena Sunil rounds things off: "2025 was a fantastic year for me in terms of SFF."
Agree/disagree? Say!
My poem 'The Commuter' has just been published in BRAWL!
I'm very proud of this poem. It's about the dystopian future we seem to be careening towards in the US.
