Syria's worst drought in decades pushes millions to the brink The drought has slashed wheat harvests by 40% in a country where nearly 90% of the population already lives in poverty.

There was a severe drought in the years leading up to the civil war. This one is worse and the country is now war torn. Syria needs help to avoid famine and further instability.
