I was very very very stubborn to make this website work. Very stubborn.
I no gree o. I said I'm not giving up seh. God is with me. Why should I fear? ππΎββοΈ
The solution? Asked two friends for help and one of them suggested Supabase for my DB (had to switch to Postgres this time and not MySQL) and then I used vercel to host my Node.js app after doing some research.

Turns out, you need to totally avoid using Namecheap for anything server-side deployment on shared hosting.
You will almost run mad.ππ
For my CSS audience, yes, I will surely find a way to perform CSS tricks with it. π€

At least I know our articles on @css-tricks.com are making some impact.

26.07.2025 13:34 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0The subject of grayscale, high contrast, light and dark mode accessibility features seems like a really good topic to look into. I wonder why I haven't paid so much attention to it till now.

11.07.2025 21:25 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I do a terrible job highlighting recent work that's gone into the CSS-Tricks almanac.
A few choice samples:
- view(): css-tricks.com/almanac/func...
- ::target-text: css-tricks.com/almanac/pseu...
- shape(): css-tricks.com/almanac/func...
- sibling-count(): css-tricks.com/almanac/func...
And who says CSS wasn't a programming language? Ha!

4. Duck Hunt CSS - Vaielab
Remember the Duck hunt game of old 1984? Well, Vaielab made this with just pure CSS and this brought back some memories. The mechanics work the same way as my balloon pop game for my oklab() almanac on @css-tricks.com except this is just CSS!

3. CSS Rock-Paper-Scissors - Alvaro Montoro
There are actually some versions of this game with only CSS, but I think this caught my eye the most because of the unique usage of emojis and the animations and transitions here. So good.

2. The Mine: No JS, CSS only adventure game - Jamie Coulter
Jamie made a game that I truly wanted to finish. The retro pixelated art style reminds me of the games of the old days. I love it! Pug and SCSS were used to build this, and it's actually super interesting!

1. Pure CSS Stack - Bence Szabo
A simple addictive game of stacking.
I had a bit of fun with this one, and from my obvious guess, Bence mostly used input checkboxes to make this work. That would've taken some TIME. Talk about intelligence and dedication!

Can you make games with just CSS? Impossible, right? Well, it is possible, and there are numerous CSS projects out there that have made super fun and addictive games with just CSS. π€― Here are 4 fun CSS-only games I played online (in no particular order):
