It's so random! But then again, people always think she's a boy, maybe this is what people are saying to her??

10.10.2025 07:17 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0My toddler has taken to referring to me and her father as "little boy".
Her: Can you get me an apple please little boyyyyyyyyy?
I ... don't know how to feel about this.
🙏🏾 Thank you! It's what I see in my head and I find it really useful :)
10.10.2025 02:10 — 👍 2 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Was surprised to see that, even though CSS Grid isn't a new feature, it's still high on the list of things devs find confusing, so wrote a post about it.
I focus on a new mental model I think is helpful. Let me know what you think!

Awesome, good to know! Thanks for that feedback :)
01.10.2025 07:33 — 👍 3 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0I just learned web fonts have been supported for Initial Letter since Safari 18.4+. (Still prefixed, but before you couldn’t use a web font.)
Yay!!!
Have you used initial letter in CSS? Do you want to?
Anchor Positioning has a way to declare where the item appears. Use the `position-area` property with pre-named areas! @saron.bsky.social realized maybe some of the names are confusing. Read more & help decide — should the names be changed?

What do you think??
A new one for CSS-TRICKS!!!

Which option do you prefer?

23.09.2025 20:14 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0I remember when I was in the depths of my depression, I couldn't wait to go to sleep so the pain could go away and the day would be over. These days, I hate going to bed because I want the day to keep going. So grateful for the progress I've made in my mental health. What a journey.

22.09.2025 04:24 — 👍 3 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0Omg such a good point. I loved school and learning, esp in those early years so I couldnt wait to share that love with my baby. But if you hated school, then you’re probably not in a rush!

Me: You ok?
Toddler: Yea
Me: What do you need?
Toddler: I need Starbucks
😂😂😂
Education, taken on primarily by my father, was everything to my family and how our lives turned out. That's probably not the case for a lot of folks, it just wasn't as critical and so they value it differently.
21.09.2025 07:43 — 👍 3 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Just vented to ChatGPT about this and it explained the disconnect I'm experiencing so well:
"The key gap is this: for you, education = survival + freedom. For them (other parents), education = inevitable, so let’s focus on the “softer” stuff."
I think that's it.
To put it a different way, I think toddlers are capable of both learning how to self regulate AND also learning the alphabet. But I only ever hear about self regulation, as if they're incapable of doing the other, and I find that very surprising.
21.09.2025 07:03 — 👍 3 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0My daughter's learned a ton of cool things in her short three years but parents (and, frankly, preschools too) just don't talk about or emphasize much else beyond their feelings. Feelings are important, but they're so capable of more. I thought everyone felt that way, but they kinda don't :/
21.09.2025 06:53 — 👍 2 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0Of yea! I think the emotional regulation stuff is very important. I want that for my daughter too. But I think my daughter, and toddlers in general, are also very curious and capable of learning much more, but parents don't seem to care about that. It's *exclusively* social and emotional.
