It's south Wales - c'est normal. Here in Brittany it's chilly but fine and a lovely sunset. p.s we do have proper horizontal valleys rain here quite often.

Intense spirited defence by France. Good for Ireland that half-time has arrived so they start the 2nd half not affected too much by their failure to score during that last passage of play. Ireland playing with more invention and speed I fancy.

Same here.Enjoyed yesterday's game.Canada were looking quite classy and outplayed Australia in just about every area.

And in Brittany 'Le Symbole' was used. It was given to a child caught speaking Breton.The only way to get rid of it was to 'snitch' on a fellow pupil speaking Breton.At the end of the day the pupil in possession of Le Symbole would be punished.

I follow 2 or 3 Rhondda social media sites , 'cos that's where I'm from, and I'm saddened , angered and disappointed in about equal measure by the degree of support for Reform. The comments supporting Reform are devoid of reasoned debate and seem based on emotion and catch phrases.

Bret's now make an unfeasibly large number of flavours. I find these garlic mayonnaise ones quite funky.

I'd forgotten about them but now I can see and taste them. I'm thinking that there must have been a nationwide menu for school meals dreamt up by some government department.

Inexpensive , nourishing and tasty - ticks all the comfort food boxes.

I live in Brittany.The French don't do packed school lunches. Here's a pic of a typical French school lunch. I was brought up on Rhondda school dinners - not haute cuisine but pretty much balanced meals and they left me with a fondness for rice pud with a thick skin.

And of course ,further up the valley we had , in Porth , our very own Houses of Parliament. Younger viewers ask your parents/grandparents.

I was watching Sky news and went into full shouting at the telly mode when he came on - 4 MP's (at the time of writing).He and his party have zero credibility.

Currently reading Gaia Vince's 'Nomad Century'. Lots of food for thought in it.

Should have added - bought my copy in 1984 but it has sat on the shelves of various bookcases for 40 years and survived many house moves before being addressed by me.

Just finished reading Dramocles by Robert Sheckley . One of the towns on one of the planets was 'Ystrad' which is also a town in the Rhondda. Went down a rabbit hole and Sheckley was commissioned by Powys Media to write a novel based on 'The Prisoner'.Bought my copy in 1984 .

This year it comes quite close to me at Mur de Bretagne. Summer means many trips to the dechetterie with big bags of green waste. Today a restrained 3 bags of ferns, brambles and yew tree prunings. Gardening keeps me sane in these strange times.

Talking of foods with flavours , I remember having the delicious and very orangey Jubbleys.

The first 'flavoured' crisps that I came across. The chippy across the road from my house sold them. This packet is one of the later ones.The original ones were very low key and black and white. Random memories of a valleys boy !

But do you remember Tudor Cheese and Onion crisps ? Without doubt the best crisps ever.

Lovely looking plate and the toppings aren't boring. In classic French cuisine the salad course often consists of only lettuce leaves with a simple French Dressing.

I trust you got your dunking timing just right and that the dunked biscuits made it to your mouth intact.
