only the final even is an actual party check that you can actually fail, but it requires you to have as many ok characters as possible rather than a couple of great ones. But the game just lets you do whatever the fuck you want before starting it so it's not a softlock

it's never a really hard game battle wise, the hard part is how overwhelming the defense sections are in like the 20~40 turn range if you're going fast

especially since akuji is broken kinda from the start, you kind of don't really need to use him much, it won't make much of a difference in the end. On the first run if you go slowly you can just afford the time of building up random units. On later ones you gotta pay pretty close attention buit

most members you capture from other clans are pretty powerful and most units are usable just through leveling up. The must useful are probably aoba for the non lethal attack since you can build her from the start and hajime because he auto wins any defense battle. It's better to vary your units

also a bunch of stuff only opens up near this point of a run so it's a good opportunity to do that and start recovering for the final act

there are some mandatory ones but they're sped up depending on what you do ? I'd recommend just not really checking the wiki for anything except like route requirements at the start of a run

I find daiakuji much harder than sengoku because of this, the extra content thrown at you is really overwhelming

on the first run the game is balanced to be really easy to not be overwhelming, on later runs you'll find the game much harder since you can conquer stuff much faster and the game throws you harder battles for doing so + you're gonna be way underleveled

there's only like 3 mandatory scenes in the story. I think you can add a warning before H scenes, at least you could in the original jp release, dunno how it is in the kagura games release
