An apx inch wide, tablet woven band, attached at one one end to a smooth debarked stick, it's loose end tassled, curling across a black fabric background. Pink and gold linen threads woven in a pattern called "dublin dragons". The pattern created to mostly copy a historic find in viking age England. Width, consistency, and quality, vary throughout the weave of about two feet long. It is beautiful, but if one looks for more than a moment, quite flawed. A learning piece made for the sake of understanding the details of the craft.

I'm just starting on a tablet weave, it has to be very nice for a fellow reenactor.
Here's my learning piece. Different tensions, switched the colour of the weft to see what happens, and tried out a mod' to the card turn pattern.
The result, is supposed to be a messy: Oh, That's what that does!

Before the nect weaving project, to make a mate to this one, I'm going on a journey of learning about 4 shed looms.
Now that I've done so much by hand, I have a much better understanding of what needs to happen with the threads, drilled into my head.

Today's project, (and many days previous and future,) is weaving on a stationary loom. (A very non traditional two by four, with small nails holding the warp threads!).
